Simple Sanctuary

Tom Rimshot thumbnail
Tom Rimshot Gorgeous waves of smoke-scented nostalgiac synthesis, flooding slowly into tapewarmed stereo field and twilight contentment. Ourson recordings are more like pictures of time and space, forever eroding in the windy weathering of memory, until their colors bleach and their edges bend, leaving only faint traces of their provenance.

about

"Simple Sanctuary" is another mix of new and old material with one track dating back as far as 2006. this mix is definitely a slight nod to Warming Plant, and includes a sort of distant b-side from that era. the second oldest track, "The Bridges, Coming Home" was found on a tape in 2017 and reworked. there are 3 songs from 2013 and then another 3 from 2017. after curating the tracks, i worked on the album as a whole, reworking each one as i saw fit to match the theme. the title "Simple Sanctuary" was brought about by the sort of safe, and inoffensive nature each track in the collection has. the songs began to remind me of moments in nature that inspire us to or give us time to reflect in peace; a musical interpretation of a few of my favorite natural landmarks.
